Joe Root Left out of England squad, Yet again!

Joe Root is the captain of the English Test team. He is also one of the finest “White ball” batman in the cricket world today. However, England Cricket Board is not interested in using him in the T20I format.

Joe Root has not played a T20I for England Cricket Team since May-2019. Root, who has an average of 35.7 and a healthy strike rate of 126 in T20 cricket, is not considered for the upcoming South African tour.

Root did not meet the selectors’ eye despite some good performances in the country season for Yorkshire. In the T20 Blast tournament during summer, Root played some valuable knocks; however, his performances could not land him in the English T20 team.

Smith also went on to say that ECB is well aware of the fact that Joe Root is a valuable asset and a great player. He is probably the most outstanding English player. As there is no major tournament in the coming days, they have rested him for good. If there were any big tournaments around the corner like there is in the next year (ICC T20 World Cup 2021), then Joe Root would have been selected by selectors for England’s T20 squad.
