Shaun Marsh
Shaun Marsh first rose to international prominence in 2008, when he topped the run-scorers’ list in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. His debuts in both ODIs and Tests were hugely impressive too - his 81 in the shorter format against West Indies earned him a Man of the Match award while his maiden Test saw him score a fine 141 against Sri Lanka. Some remarkable Test knocks followed alongside some inconsistent form which meant the left-hander struggled to nail down a permanent spot in Australia’s Test squad. Like his brother Mitch, Shaun’s 2017/18 Ashes series also saw him score two brilliant hundreds during Australia’s 4-0 thumping of their arch-rivals. Marsh’s ODI record makes for better reading, with his outstanding run of four hundreds in a span of just 12 months earning him a spot in Australia’s 2019 ODI World Cup squad. The Big Bash league has seen some of the best of Marsh too – with the veteran having played for Perth Scorchers in the first eight seasons before moving to Melbourne Renegades for BBL|09.
Shaun Marsh became the 14th Australian to score a century in his Test debut when he compiled 141 against Sri Lanka in 2011.
