Ranasinghe Lakmal
A tall, right-arm fast bowler, Suranga Lakmal first moved into Sri Lanka’s one-day side in December 2009 and has since represented the country in all three formats. With 64 ODI caps to his name, the quick has taken 87 wickets through his one-day career. In an ominous sign ahead of the World Cup in 2015, Lakmal took a career-best 4-30 against England in December 2014, snaring the prize wickets of Joe Root, Ravi Bopara and Eoin Morgan. Lakmal has also impressed in Test cricket, taking 82 wickets from his 37 appearances.
He was the first cricketer from Hambantota District to represent Sri Lanka.
