It is still not clear if Virat Kohli will come back to rejoin the team after his Child’s birth. This however, is extremely unlikely because of the Bio secure Bubble restrictions and strict COVID-19 SOPs in place for the series.
Usually the cricketers make a quick trip home and return after the child’s birth but Indian board has granted Virat Kohli a paternity leave sighting no possibility of his comeback in the Test series post Child Birth.
It must be noted here that there is a two week quarantine period prior to the series to secure and maintain bio secure bubble.
But who will captain Team India in absence of Virat Kohli?
In the absence of Virat Kohli, the vice captain Ajinka Rahane is likely to fill the captaincy position and will hold the command of team India for the rest of the Test series against Australia.
